The Next Planet Memphis

Hey Ya'll Planet Memphis will be at the blues/folk tent at the Deltafest this Saturday Sept. 8. We start at 6:00pm - 7:30pm. So come on out and check out Hitchhikers Union, Gann Brewer, and Trey Yip.

Delta Fair and Music Festival

Well it's that time of year again. The kids are back in school, the fall is right around the corner (though it may not feel like it), and the fair is in town like clockwork to wave goodbye to another summer. There is something different about it this year though. Through some stroke of genius a very smart person put together a different fair for Memphis residents, assuming that the Mid-South Fair was over and done with.

The Delta Fair seems to have much more to offer, most importantly though quality music and events scheduled every day. I will suggest that everyone get out and see the Avett Brothers on monday August 3rd. You will not be disappointed in their unique brand of Folk/Rock.

The Delta Fair also holds another little gem amid it's week and a half long stint in the bluff city, The cast of characters that is Planet Memphis will take the stage Saturday August 8th at 6:00 pm for an hour and a half long set of what we do best.

The Hitchhikers Union will be on hand to play some of our own delta bluesgrass, and I received confirmation from Trey Yip last night that he would grace us with his presence. I urge everyone to come out and see what Trey brings to the table. He is an amazing artist with a strong natural songwriting ability. This man has brought a tear to my eye, and a smile to my face on more than one occasion.. His music really speaks to me and I would venture to say it will speak to you as well.

I look forward to seeing everyone out at the Delta Music Fest on Saturday August 8th at 6:30. I urge everyone to come out and share in this great time with us.

Planet Memphis at Kudzu's Tuesday Aug 21

We had a great time Tuesday evening. Thanks to all for being there.

Hitchhikers Union opened up. Then our good friend Gann Brewer did a set followed by suprise guest Trey Yip. We are up again next Tuesday Aug 28. at 6:30 pm just in time for happy hour and good food along with some great musicians in an intimate atmosphere. So join Hitchhikers Union, Gann Brewer, Trey Yip, and Myself for a taste of Planet Memphis.

Anxiously Awaiting

Thanks to Joe Terry from 88.5's Juke 'N' Jamm radio broadcast we are opening a new chapter to the Memphis music scene.

Beginning August 21st Joe Terry, The Hitchhikers Union, and Gann Brewer will be hosting a series of tuesday night jam sessions set to take place at Kudzu's, Memphis's home for acoustic songwriters and musicians.

We encourage musicians to bring out their instruments and join in the fun. The shows, set to start during happy hour and carry on into the night, will incorporate all styles of music including blues, bluegrass, folk, and americana.

I am very excited to be a part of this and encourage everyone to come have a great time and enjoy happy hour prices on your favorite beverages.
